Olympia Marathon

On the 26th and the 27th of March, one month before the Olympic Flame ceremony that signals the beginning of the road to the Olympic Games in Rio we invite you to the 2nd Olympia Marathon. A great celebration of sport and Olympism. Live your own moments of glory at the place where it all started!

Route description:

Olympia Marathon offers to the runners the unique opportunity to run along the course from Ancient Elis to Ancient Olympia. A route that the athletes used to do prior to their participation in the Ancient Olympic Games.

The Half Marathon, second most important race of the program, starting from the center of the city of Pyrgos and finishing in Ancient Olympia, will give the opportunity to those who are not yet able to finish a marathon to participate in this unique running event.

Last but not least on the 26th of March, the Ancient Elis 12km race will take place from Ancient Elis to Amaliada.
