Route description:
The race applies to experienced athletes, as it requires advanced skills due to its high difficulty grade. The route spreads out in a 103K distance and covers totally 7200 meters of elevation gain. The trail passes through unique scenery that offers tremendous view of the famous mountain, and in the meantime constitutes a tough trial for mountain runners, in a demanding technical terrain.
Refreshment stations:
12 stations/refreshment points with water, coke and Snacks (salty and sweet). Additional you can find in many of those 12 stations fresh fruits, bread, cheese, ham, soup, pasta, rice, potatoes, compotes, choco-milk, eggs, pies, burgers and other.
Venue facilities:
Medical/first aid/resque assistance is available along the route and in the start/finish area by the Hellenic Resque Team ( http://www.hrt.org.gr )
The 5th edition of Olympus Mythical Trail will take place on July 2, 2016 in Litochoro town, situated at the foothills of mount Olympus in Northern Greece. and will be limited to 150 athletes from Greece and the world. Inscriptions will open on March 1, 2016.
The race is organized by the non-profit club “Olympus Trails” by local based trail-running enthusiasts for the sole purpose of enabling the spread of their passion for combining adventure and ultra endurance events in the wilderness, hence the name “advendurance” a make-up word of adventure-and-endurance. Along with Olympus Mythical Trail the club organizes the “Lost Trail” a September forthcoming inaugural 58km race in the lower alpine part of Mt.Olympus.
