The most popular sporting event that is not held in one of the two big cities is organized by Communication Lab for the 4th consecutive year. Spetses mini Marathon (SMM) has been instituted as one of the great events in Greece and the world as well with more than 3.000 runners and 6.000 visitors!

Route description:

Spetses mini Marathon 2014 will be held in October (10-12.10.2014) introducing 3 new races! The new 10K run, the non-competitive My First Spetses mini Marathon (500m run) for infants and pre-school kids (accompanied by their parents), as well as the full Kosta-Spetses (3.000m) swimming competition, are added to a total number of 8 events for this year.

Many great athletes will take part in this year’s event. Kostas Nakopoulos, Dimitris Theodorakakos, Magda Gazea, Deniz Dimaki, as well as renowned swimmers S. Gianniotis, G. Drymonakos and Chr. Bofilios. Although, it is important that not only professionals, but anyone who has the will can be a part of this remarkably well organized event on the beautiful island of Spetses.

Each course and event is chosen and planned in order to highlight the natural and architectural beauty, as well as the rich culture of Spetses.

5K – Running
10K – Running
25K – Running
3000m (Kosta-Spetses) – Swimming
5000m (Spetses-Kosta-Spetses) – Swimming
Kids’ 0- 5 years 500m – Running
Kids’ 6-12 years 1000m – Running
Kids’ 8-12 years 150m – Swimming

16.00: Kids’ 150m. Swimming competition (Primary school students 8-12 years old)
17.00: Opening Ceremony – Anargyrios and Korgialenios School of Spetses (AKSS)
Awards Ceremony for the kids’ Art competition
Awards Ceremony for the kids’ Swimming competition

Saturday 11 October 2014
10.15: 3.000m swimmers’ meeting at Dapia to be transported to Kosta for the start
11.00: Cross Spetses Channel Swimming Competition (3.000m. & 5.000m.)
3.000 m: Start at Kosta beach – Finish at Poseidonion square beach
5.000 m: Start – Finish at Poseidonion square beach
13.30: Spetsiot Treats (*)
15.00-15.30: Children’s Run 500m. (0-5 years old)
(For children under 6 years old ONLY, in this race children must be accompanied by a parent for the duration of the course).
Race will start in front of the Town Hall and finish at the Poseidonion square
15.30: Children’s Run 1.000m.
(Primary school students ONLY, running in divisions of their class respectively).
Race will start at Spetses Hotel and finish at the Poseidonion square
16.30: Awards ceremony for the children’s Runs at the Poseidonion square.
17.30: 10km race (NEW EVENT!)

19.30: Swimming Competition Awards Ceremony

20.30: MELISSA Pasta Night (*)
