Run on one of the "Tinos Running Experience" races! Beautiful courses along the island of Tinos. The participants will have the possibility to experience the charming and picturesque villages, the numerous museums, the beauty of nature, the amazing beaches, the culture and art of Tinos.

Route description:

Runners can choose the Half Marathon, 10 km or 5 km and there is also a free kids race of 1 km. The main event of the program is the Half Marathon, starting at the outdoor theater of the beautiful village Volakas. A village of unique natural beauty, its unique surrounding of big round rocks gives the whole landscape a lunar appearance. The route goes through the villages Skalados, Krokos, Komi, Kalloni and ends in the Town of Tinos.

Tinos 10 km Fun Run: Starts from Pantanassis Square in the center of Tinos Town, along the coastal road, crossthe road to Agios Fokas beach, passes the heliport, reaching Vrekastro area and continues to Kionia to the archaeological site (Temple of Poseidon and Amphitrite) with return through the same route and finish at Pantanassis Square.

Tinos 5 km Fun Run: Start from Pantanassis Square in the center of Tinos Town, along the coastal road, cosses the road to Agios Fokas beach, passes the heliport, reaches Vrekastro area and return from the same route to the center of the town.

Medical assistance will be available along the route and in the start/finish area.

Tinos Commercial and Business Association offers reduced prices on ferry tickets, accommodation, meals, entertainment, rental cars, etc. Transportation of athletes on the island is free. Over the coming months there will be a constant update related to the event and services considering the athletes and their companions so please check the website.

Awards:

Awards-Age categories: There will be awards for the first three winners (male and female) overall and the first three winners (male and female) of the following categories: up to 40, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+. All the participants that finish the race will receive a medal and a diploma.

Other activities:

On the day before the races, Friday the 10th, a Pasta Party is hosted for the participants and their companions. The Pasta Party takes place in a different village every year: 2014 in Steni, 2015 in Agapi and in 2016 it will be held in the village of Komi. The local cultural groups of the villages, combined with the valuable assistance from locals, especially the women, prepare traditional recipes adapted to the needs of athletes with local products, offering plenty of local wine, raki and folk music. So, athletes and their companions may get acquainted with the local culture, gastronomy, hospitality of Tinos and its inhabitants. The following day, Sunday, an optional activity will be held, with a walk through one of the many trails of the island, getting in touch with nature and the beautiful landscape of Tinos.

Additional info:

A unique Medal will be awarded to every participant that finishes the race. The medal will be a replica of the one awarded to the winners of "TINIA 1895" the Pre-Olympic tournament of the first Modern Olympics in 1896.
